A CHANGE OF VENUE! I was not able to take a look last week to confirm our walking route and entry point at Panoramic Hwy and see if cell service worked. So to avoid any issues we are moving our Birdwatching Walk to Samuel P. Taylor park near Lagunitas. Bring your binoculars if you have them.
This Sunday join us for a walk in the woods for a time of peace and reflection and hopefully to see and hear the elusive Varied Thrush and other forest friends. This will be an easy walk, with stops to listen and appreciate the sounds of the forest, see birds and hopefully hear and view this beautifully tuned robin relative, which comes through the Bay Area in January & February. Even if we don’t spot one (or more), there is a lot of life in the woods and you can enjoy the company of like minded NEW members while we enjoy the serene Redwoods.
ADDED BONUS: The Salmon are running up Lagunitas Creek and often can be spotted easily.
We can go at whatever pace feels good. Expect maybe 2 or 3 miles max miles trip, so bring your binoculars if you have them and plan on a walk that focuses on nature, sounds and beauty. And we may encounter mud so wear shoes that handle that well.
We’ll plan on meeting at the parking lot right past the entrance station. There is an entrance fee, they take cash or credit card. Fee $ 8 or $ 7 seniors per car.
Please RSVP with me so I can know to expect you!
I look forward to seeing you there.
